Important Update from the Department of Education regarding Exams:

  • Definitions: all definitions should be as per 2021 Examinations.
  • Definition of Free Fall and Projectile: as from 2024 gravity and weight will not be accepted as part of the definitions, only gravitational force, i.e.
    • ACCEPTED: an object moving under the influence of gravitational force only.
    • NOT ACCEPTED: An object moving under the influence of gravity only.
  • Definition of Weak Acid/Base: as from 2024 only the complete definition as per exam guidelines will be accepted, i.e.
    • ACCEPTED: a weak acid ionizes incompletely in water to form a low concentration of hydronium ions.
    • NOT ACCEPTED: a weak acid ionizes incompletely.
  • Free-body and Force Diagrams: the use of components to represent a force on a free body or force diagram will not be accepted.

  • Date: 31 May 2024.
  • Time: 09:00 – 12:00 (3 hours; 150 marks).
